The Lowdown of Lamborghini’s Latest Powerhouse: Huracan
The Lamborghini Huracan is Lamborghini’s latest powerhouse. Named after a Spanish fighting bull and the Spanish word for ‘hurricane’, the Huracan recently replaced their sales leader and most produced car, the Gallardo. The Huracan graced the scene with its beauty and power at the March 2014 Geneva Auto Show. There is no question why this enraged beauty was called Huracan, it demands respect from everyone on the road.
Lamborghini Huracan vs its predecessor the ‘Gallardo’
Lamborghini really did not want to disappoint Huracan’s predecessor the Gallardo. With a base price in the US of $241,945 Lamborghini went above and beyond to make sure that the Huracan hit the streets guns blazing! We listed just some of the changes and improvements:
- Full LED illumination
- Redesigned dashboard and central tunnel
- Engine stop and start technology
- EU6 emissions regulation compliance
- LDF 7-speed dual clutch transmission with 3 modes (STRADA, SPORT and CORSA)
- 20 inch wheels
- Carbon-ceramic brake system
- Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system and MagneRide electromagnetic damper control
- IDS direct and indirect gasoline injections
Huracan’s Blazing Bull Performance
The Huracan is really a raging bull. You will really see the power in the videos furtherdown. The 5.2 L V10 engine comes from the Gallardo boasting a 602 horsepower and with a 0-62mph of only 3.2 seconds. The electronically controlled all-wheel drive in the Huracan aims to increase traction while cutting corners and helps the overall performance of the car. The bull also boasts Lamborghini’s new ‘Doppia Frizione’ 7 speed dual clutch transmission. When blazing through the mountains and hills and you are taking those sharp turns the Lamborghini Huracan has a magnetically controlled suspension that is able to ensure optimal suspension at control at all times. One reviewer of the Huracan claimed that it was ‘too tame’ to be a proper Lamborghini which is funny considering the fact that it got the quickest time of all Lamborghinis even beating the Aventador, breezing around the Top Gear test track in only 1:15.8
In a video published on Underground Racing’s Youtube channel we see a 2000+ horsepower twin turbo X-Version Lamborghini Huracan in action.
Lamborghini Aventador SV vs Lamborghini Huracan
And this is just awesome! A Lamborghini Huracan cruising upon the autobahn has a Aventador challenger stumble upon its stomping grounds. Take a look at the two bulls ripping and roaring.
There are 1,616 Lamborghini Huracans on the road, and there are many more to come! Be sure to look out for these graceful and enraged bulls!
