Now we’re not sure where or how this would come in handy unless you want to find your car easier at night, but one thing is for sure, and that’s that this glow in the dark Aston Martin we came across online is awesome to look at. At Boca Autohaus, we’re all about innovative luxury vehicles and restoring vintage cars, which is why a finding like this bad boy is always fun! Why is the Aston Martin DBS so special?
Aston Martin DBS Specifications
As a way to bridge the gap between the race track and the open road, Aston Martin developed the DBS model in 2007. This is a car that demands a high performance. With a top speed of 191 miles per hour, the DBS is the definition of refinement and power. Let’s take a look at some of the specs,
- Two door coupe w/ two person seating.
- VH structure made from bonded aluminum.
- Body made from aluminum, carbon fiber, and magnesium alloy.
- 48 valve V12 engine with a quad overcame shaft (made from alloy).
- Zero to 62 in 4.3 seconds.
- Six speed manual gear box mounted in the rear.
Now the Aston Martin we discovered (thank you, internet) takes all those specs (plus so many more), one step further because it glows in the dark. That’s right readers, it glows in the dark.
Owned by David Morgan, this Aston Martin DBS luxury sports car competed in the 2015 Gumball 3000 Rally with Team46. Just like any other phosphorescent object, the DBS’s UV coating collects sunlight throughout the day. Through this charge and absorption of UV rays, the coating can glow up to 10 hours. According to Morgan, “I wanted a car that would stand out among the collection of supercars and what better way to do that then make it glow?”
He also went into what the body of the car feels like, and boy, oh boy, do we want to see this thing in real life! So what’s it like to get your hands on this DBS model? Apparently it’s like touching glass. If you ever get an opportunity to see a glow in the dark sports car, do it! Let us live vicariously through you; unless of course, we get to one first.
