If any of this sounds familiar

BMW service is mechanical art — chain shops treat it like a Ford.

BMW engineering rewards specialists. Generic OBD readers can’t reset the CBS interval, generic 5W-30 destroys Longlife motors, valve-cover gaskets need the right torque sequence, and N20 timing chains have a known service window. Here’s where it usually goes wrong.

“BMW says my N20 timing chain needs replacement.”

N20 / N26 timing chain service

Same OEM chain + guides + tensioner + oil-pump bolt as the dealer uses — quoted itemized after inspection at our independent labor rate, with the same factory torque sequence and a longer warranty.

“The chain shop poured 5W-30 into my N55.”

Wrong oil on a Longlife motor

N55 / B58 / S55 need Longlife-04 spec only. Generic 5W-30 causes timing-chain wear, turbo coking, and VANOS solenoid failure — expensive damage you don’t see until much later.

“The CBS still shows ‘Service Due’ after the oil change.”

Condition-based service reset

BMW’s CBS system tracks service via the engine control module, not just the windshield sticker. It needs ISTA (or equivalent) to reset properly. Generic OBD readers won’t do it.

“Nobody wants to touch my M3.”

M Performance specialty work

M Performance models (M3, M4, M5, M8, X3M, X4M, X5M, X6M) use S55 / S58 / S63 / S68 platforms. Same ISTA procedures, same Longlife oil. We service them at standard European labor rate.

Our approach

BMW ISTA scan. Longlife-04 oil. OEM filter. CBS reset like the dealer.

BMW service is straightforward when you have ISTA, the right Longlife oil, and the proper CBS reset procedure. Most chain shops have none of those. The result: oil changes that don’t reset the CBS counter, brake jobs that don’t reset the EPB and pad-sensor, valve-cover work that leaves the PCV regulator wrong, and timing-chain service that uses non-OEM parts.

We use BMW ISTA (the same factory diagnostic platform BMW dealers use), Castrol EDGE Professional LL04 / Pentosin / equivalent Longlife-04 / LL-12FE / LL-17 spec oil, OEM Mahle / Hengst filters, and the factory CBS reset on every visit. Same procedures as the dealer, much better pricing.

  • BMW ISTA factory diagnostic platform — same as the dealer, on every visit
  • Longlife-04 / LL-12FE / LL-17 / LL-19 spec oil only — matched to your specific platform
  • OEM filters (Mahle, Hengst) — listed by part number on every quote
  • CBS reset, EPB / pad-sensor reset, Vanos / Valvetronic adaptation via factory tool
  • Every line of work covered by our 48-month / 48,000-mile parts and labor warranty

How a BMW service goes

Five steps. No surprises.

From the moment you call to the moment you drive out, here’s what to expect — and what you walk away with at every step.

01

Book + drop off

Call (561) 395-5566 or request a quote. Most CBS-due service is same-day or next-day with an appointment.

02

Free ISTA scan

BMW ISTA factory scan reads every module: engine, transmission, ABS, DSC, ADAS, infotainment, comfort access. CBS status checked + stored fault codes captured.

03

Itemized quote

Oil spec, filter part numbers, labor hours, any platform-specific items found in the scan — all listed. You approve before any work begins.

04

Service + CBS reset

Longlife-04 / LL-12FE / LL-17 oil, OEM filter, factory torque on drain plug. CBS counter reset via ISTA. Post-service test-drive verifies.

05

48-mo / 48k warranty

Parts and labor covered, starting on invoice date. Honored at PAC Community shops nationwide. Service logged digitally.

How we’re different

BMW service, line by line, vs. the dealer and the chain shop.

What it costs

BMW service ranges, published up front.

BMW pricing varies by platform — CBS-due oil service on a 330i and the same job on an X7 M50i are not in the same dollar zip code. We quote the real number for your specific car after the inspection — not before.

Our European labor rate is $269/hr; oil change starts at $169.95; alignment from $189.95. Inspection and ISTA scan are free on every job. Specific service-job costs — CBS oil service, brake-fluid flush, N20 timing chain, ZF 8HP transmission service, brake service — are itemized after the free inspection. M Performance and 7-Series platforms price higher because the parts and procedures are different, not because we charge a premium.

Free inspection + free ISTA scan, then itemized quote. No work happens without your line-by-line approval.

Inspection & ISTA scan

Free then a real itemized quote

European labor billed at $269/hr — significantly less than dealer rates for the same ISTA procedures and Longlife oil spec. Same factory CBS reset, same OEM filter sources.

Frequently asked

BMW questions, answered straight.

The seven questions we’re most often asked about BMW service — with the real answers.

How often should I service my BMW under CBS?

BMW’s Condition-Based Service is dynamic — the dash tells you when each item is due based on actual driving. Typical intervals: oil service every 7,000–15,000 miles depending on driving pattern, brake-fluid flush every 2 years, microfilter every 30,000 miles or annually, brake pads when the wear sensor triggers.

South Florida heat and stop-and-go shorten the effective oil interval by 10–20%. We recommend the shorter side of CBS for cars driven primarily here. We’ll review your CBS history and tell you honestly when each item should fall.

Do you service BMW M Performance models?

Yes — M2, M3, M4, M5, M8, X3M, X4M, X5M, X6M. We service the S55 (F80 M3/M4), S58 (G80/G82 M3/M4, X3M/X4M), S63 (M5/M8, X5M/X6M), and the new S68 hybrid AMG-platform. Same ISTA procedures, same Longlife oil, same CBS reset.

Same labor rate as standard BMW work ($269/hr European). The dealer often charges an "M Performance premium" — we don’t. M-DCT clutch service, ceramic brake work, and M-Sport package items all in scope.

Will independent service void my BMW warranty?

No. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits BMW from voiding your factory warranty because you used an independent specialist. As long as we use Longlife-spec oil, OEM filters, and document the service properly, your BMW Maintenance / Roadside / Ultimate Service Plan coverage stays intact.

We keep a full digital record on every service — oil spec, filter part number, technician sign-off — so warranty claims and resale-time questions are straightforward.

What about BMW i Series electric vehicles?

Yes — we service the i Series lineup (i4, i5, i7, iX, plus older i3 / i8). EV service is different from ICE work: tire rotation, brake service (regen reduces wear but rotors still corrode), cabin filter, coolant for the battery thermal management system, 12V auxiliary battery, and software updates via ISTA.

We have the high-voltage safety equipment + training to work safely on i Series models. Battery diagnostics and high-voltage service are within scope; major battery replacement is referred to a BMW-EV certified specialist.

How much does a Vanos / Valvetronic repair cost?

Depends on which system and what’s failed. Vanos solenoid + seal replacement on N52/N54/N55: $400–$700 (one to two solenoids). Vanos unit replacement (rare): $1,200–$2,000. Valvetronic motor replacement on N20/N52: $700–$1,100. Eccentric shaft sensor: $300–$500.

We diagnose first via ISTA + live data + actuation tests — not "we’ll replace the most expensive part and see." Most Vanos / Valvetronic complaints are solenoid-level fixes, not full unit replacement.

My charge pipe / boot is leaking on my N55 — can you fix it?

Yes — N55 / N20 charge pipe failure is one of the most common BMW boost-related complaints. The plastic charge pipe cracks at the turbo outlet, causing boost loss + reduced power codes. We replace with the OEM aluminum charge pipe upgrade ($350–$500 installed) which is a permanent fix — no recurrence.

While we’re in there, we check the OFHG (oil filter housing gasket), valve cover gasket, and PCV regulator condition — common N55 failure points often share the same labor access.

Can you tune / flash software on my BMW?

We do BMW factory software updates via ISTA (free with any service if an update is available). We do NOT do aftermarket performance tunes (Stage 1/2/3 ECU flashes, JB4, MHD-style remaps) — those void your factory warranty and can stress the drivetrain in ways the warranty won’t cover.

If you already have an aftermarket tune and need service, we’ll work on the car — but we’ll log the tune state in your service record so warranty implications are documented.
